Join us for our opening weekend at Nikka Yuko!

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden is hosting a kite festival on May 4 & 5 in celebration of Children’s Day in Japan.

We're pleased to host volunteers from the SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival who will be holding workshops to show you and your family how to build and fly your own kites. Local kite expert, Don Guick, will be giving a kite demonstration with several of his amazing, colourful kites of all shapes and sizes.

Kite kits will be available for free with admission.

Schedule (both days):

  • 11AM-12PM: Tea Ceremony presentation in the pavilion
  • 11AM and hourly from 1-6PM: Guided tours around the garden
  • 1-2 pm: Kite demonstration with Don Guick
  • 2-4 pm: Kite building and learning to fly with SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival volunteers
  • 1-5PM: Yukata Dressing outside Visitor's Centre 

Saturday Only:
  • Free Reflexology sessions: Indulge in a free 20-minute session in the garden with Registered Canadian Reflexology Therapist, Linda Rose from 2-4PM. Pre-book your session by emailing or calling 403-328-3511.
