Winter Light Festival 2022-2023



Experience the magic of the winter season at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Winter Light Festival! 

Leave the hustle and bustle behind and wander through the thousands of light displays adorning the trees and illuminating the garden’s landscape. Take a photo with one of our intricate ice sculptures, or hop on a horse and wagon ride around Henderson Lake. You can create new memories this season with our new Kamakura [igloo] Dome experience. There is so much to do here at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden this Winter Light Festival season!

General Admission

Includes admission only, drinks and cookies can be purchased at Cleo Mower's Cafe inside the Bunka Centre.

Adult (Ages 17+) - $13.50
Senior (Ages 65+) - $12.50
Gakusei [Student] - (Ages 12-16 or students with ID) - $10.00
Kodomo [Child]  - (Ages 17+) - $10.00
5 & Under - FREE

Admission Packages

Includes admission, drinks, and cookies. Pick up your refreshments at the Bunka Centre.

Kodomo [Child] (Ages 6-12, also includes a childrens colouring booklet) - $12.00
Tomodachi [Friendship] (includes admissions, drinks and cookies for two people) - $26.00
Gakusei [Student] ( Ages 12-15 or students with ID) - $12.00
Kazoku [Family] (Includes asmissions, drinks and cookies for five people) - $60.00

Basha Nori [Horse & Wagon Rides]

Price includes wagon ride only, this is not admission into the garden.

Wagon rides depart every 15 minutes starting at 6:15PM and the final ride is at 8:30PM.
Available on December 1/8/15/22/29/31 only.

Bundle Packages

Give your employees, clients, friends, or family the best gift this season! Brighten their winter with passes to the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Passes include admission for any public night, a drink, and cookie. Bundles can be purchased at the Bunka Centre or by calling us at 403-328-3511.

Private Nights

(51 - 100 Guests) - $2000
(101 - 200 Guests) - $2500

  • December: Monday/Tuesdays, January: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesdays, February: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursdays
  • 4 hour experience, available from 4 - 10PM
  • Each guest receives a hot beverage
  • Access to large venue space in Bunka Centre - due to limited space, sit down catering or table service is only available for a maximum of 50 guests
  • Includes access to the Kamakura Dome Experience - Sakura or Northern Lights


Public Nights

(100 Guests) - $1500

  • Available on Wednesdays - Sundays in December and Thursdays - Sundays in January and February
  • 2 hour experience, available from 4 - 6PM
  • Each guest receives a hot beverage
  • Access to large venue space in Bunka Centre - due to limited space, catering or table service available
  • Includes access to the Kamakura Dome Experience - Sakura or Northern Lights

*NEW* KAMAKURA [IGLOO] DOME EXPERIENCE

Our 360-degree projection dome experience features a 15-minute Northern Lights (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) or Sakura (Thursday, Saturday) projection experience with a host telling stories on Japanese winter customs, traditions and tales! Only three time slots available per day, with a maximum 12 people.

  • Kamakura [Igloo] Experience - $25/ person

Includes admission into the Winter Light Festival , VIP skip the line check-in (Check-in at Yanoshita Centre) and refreshments.
